Does manifesting really work?

If you read my e-book you will understand why I am so passionate about self love and even though I don’t talk about manifesting in the book I do believe we must know who we are and what we want in order to start achieve anything. The problem is when we say manifesting, people think of something mystic, candle lights, mantras and plenty of woo, however I think the is more to manifesting then simply wishing, so here is my take on it..

Manifesting is visualizing!

When we have a clear vision of what we want it becomes much easier to list actions that will be necessary in order to get there. However we cannot just create a vision board and add random pictures without actually having a plan on how to get there. For example, in order to possibly have the nice house, I must have money, and money will comes from trading my time and skills for a paycheck. Therefore, the start point to attain my goals is to have skills that I can trade for money, so instead of manifesting or wishing to have a certain lifestyle, I should start by manifesting or visualizing how much work it will take for me to conquer each step towards my goals!

Manifesting needs discipline and focus!

I am not a fan of vision boards because they don’t show you the hard work that will be required in order to attain your goals. Instead I prefer creating a list of what needs to be accomplished and then focus on one step at a time! Before I met Arthur (my boyfriend) I had to do some work on myself, I had a list of behaviors and attitudes that I needed to improve in order to meet someone who wanted to be committed in a serious relationship and eventually marriage. I read books on what I could improve and I created a strategy to dating. I made a list of what I wanted in a guy and when I met someone I looked for the things that were aligned with me. For example, did we want the same things, do we have the same religious background, is he hardworking and so on. I said “no” to people that were not aligned because I knew what I wanted and when I met Arthur, everything I had written on my list checked out!

As you can see, I was focused in what I wanted for a relationship and therefore it became easy to say no to people who were not aligned with “my list“. Therefore, being laser focus on our goals makes us stronger in saying “NO” to things that don’t pertain to what we want. For example, if you are working towards becoming a body builder, you will have to say no to staying out late, drinking alcohol, having unhealthy meals and even say no to skipping the gym when you are tired. It becomes second nature to simply say no, because you are focused on attaining that goal and you know why it is important to you.

Manifesting also requires hard work!

Then it is just a matter of how much do you want it and are you taking actionable steps to get there? If you want to be a successful realtor you need the skills, the license, you need to be in touch with customers, perform cold calls and so much more! If you want to be a blogger, you have to do so much more than just write your thoughts away, you need quality content, images, promote the content on every platform, you also need to continuously learn how to optimize your content in order to be found, and again so much more than we estimate or see.

We cannot go through life wishing to make our dreams a reality and take zero actions in order to actually see it through. I believe in manifesting, in the sense that you are directing energy towards visualizing, planning, doing the work and continuously affirming how capable we are to turn the things we dream of into a reality. But as the Brazilian saying goes “God helps those who rise early”, meaning that you can wish, manifest and pray but if you don’t get up and do your part, it doesn’t work! Believe in yourself, aim high and get to work, you and only you can make your dreams come true!
