Making a life change…

In December 2021 I resigned from my job as a Senior Training Business Partner for a Pharmaceutical company, and this may have been one of the hardest professional decisions I ever made.

Although this was a hard decision, I was at a point that I did not see my career there evolving. I could probably continue to learn more about Instructional Design, but in the end of the day that wasn’t the direction I wanted to go. The hardest part about leaving was not the work itself, but leaving behind amazing peers that I loved working with, people that inspired me and taught me so much about leadership.

When I knew I wanted to leave I had to make sure I had enough money to support myself as I venture into new areas. I also spent plenty of time brainstorming what I could do to be a full time entrepreneur and what to focus on first. And at the same time I was preparing I got a brand partnership that got me excited for potential collaborations in the future, reasuring me I was doing the right thing.

I booked a meeting with my boss and I laid down the news, she understood and helped me with the next steps of resignation. I used my last two weeks to finish as much as I could and leave everything ready to be taken over by my peers and that was that.

Change is not easy and it can be very scary but to me, the scariest thing is living a life without purpose, wasting my time not being happy and not chasing my dreams, that is truly scary!

As I am going into a month of being out of that job, I am reflecting on the new possibilities and decisions that I am making. New opportunities have come up for freelancing content creator work and I feel really good about the next steps! I am also constantly telling myself, stay positive, focus, work hard and trust that the results will come!
